The Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool - Wrap Both Sides Of T-Post Fence Clips - Fast, Easy, Painlessly

Watch the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool in action

The Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool wraps tight, complete wraps on both ends of standard t-post clips, in less time, with less frustration, and with no hand strain or pain. It is strong enough to hold up under the stress of wrapping thousands of fence clips and yet is inexpensive, light and portable and easy to maneuver in tight areas such as cattle panels, welded wire and field fence.

Wrapping t-post clips with pliers is an awkward process, involving squeezing, twisting, and applying pressure to heavy gauge fence clips. These repeated actions cause hand and wrist fatigue, lots of maneuvering and repositioning of hands and pliers, dropped pliers (and swearing), blisters and occasionally carpal tunnel syndrome.

WHY I DEVELOPED THE FENCE PRO T-POST CLIP TOOL

After I developed arthritis in my hands, using pliers for wrapping t-post clips became too painful. Searching for an inexpensive tool to ease my fence-building chores was disappointing. What was available on the market either wouldn't hold up under the stress of continuous wraps or required purchasing specially made fence clips or expensive tools.

Determined to develop my own tool, I began experimenting with various materials and designs. The Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool is the result of months of trial and error.

Through extensive field testing it has exceeded all of my expectations, allowing me to quickly and painlessly wrap standard t-post fence clips and has proven it's durability by holding up through hundreds of t-post clip installations.

EASY ON ARTHRITIC HANDS - NO HAND STRAIN OR PAIN

The Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool eliminates the squeezing, twisting, and constant tool and hand repositioning involved when wrapping fence clips with pliers. Very little grip is needed, therefore hand strain and pain are eliminated, making this tool a pleasure to use for those with arthritic hands like mine.

Some of our customers have said:

"This tool made my job much easier and faster...was much easier on my hands. I have some arthritis in my hands and the fence pliers that I used to use made my hands pretty sore. My hands didn't hurt at all after using your tool."
- Bill Scanlon, Desoto, MO

"I have arthritis in my hands like you wouldn't believe....I just can't handle any amount of strain on my fingers that you get using pliers to wrap t-post ties. Along came this tool, what a great invention, a quality product that really does what it says. No matter how many t-post ties you are wrapping get one, your fingers will thank you for it."
- Stuart Kolb, Weatherford, TX

"There was no strain to my hands, I am so impressed I will tell everyone I know."
- Cynthia Miller, Tonasket, WA

TORQUE, NOT PRESSURE, IS THE KEY

Clips are wrapped by bracing the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool on the wire

With the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool clips are wrapped by bracing the tool on the wire and using the tool's length to provide the torque needed to wrap the clip. No pressure or squeezing is involved. In fact if you wanted to you could do much of the wrapping with one finger.

Since wrapping t-post clips with the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool causes no hand strain or pain, I can wrap clips twice as fast as I can with pliers, even with my arthritic hands. I can achieve uniformly tight wraps on both the long and short ends of each clip, no matter how many clips I wrap in a day. The result - t-post clips stay tight - even when cows lean on the fence.

WRAP BOTH ENDS OF T-POST CLIPS IN HALF THE TIME

With the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool uniformly tight wraps can be achieved on both ends of t-post clips, in half the time it takes to wrap with pliers.

If you've ever wrapped t-post clips with pliers you know that after wrapping 4-5 t-posts you quickly lose your enthusiasm for tightly wrapped fence clips. At this point most people settle for simply hooking the short end of the clip on the wire and securing the long end with a single wrap on the other side of the post.

The drawback to this method is that the fence isn't tightly secured to the t-post. When a cow leans on the fence to get to that tempting green morsel on the other side loose clips often spring off the wire and new clips have to be installed.

The Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool is designed to slip over ends of t-post clips for tight wraps

The Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool's slim design and hollow tube construction allow it to slip over the end of t-post clips as short as 1/8" to achieve tight, complete wraps that prevent clips from springing off fences.

Additionally, with it's slim design and no handle to get caught on fence wire, t-post clip wraps are done in half the time it takes to wrap with pliers.

CLIPS STAY TIGHT - WON'T SPRING OFF FENCE - "BULL TESTED"

Three bulls have provided excellent demonstrations of the strength of fence clips wrapped with the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool.

When a new bull moved into a neighboring pasture, he and my bull spent several days attempting to prove which one had the biggest muscles and while doing so they did a lot of fence-leaning. Fortunately I had used the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool to replace all of the old, loose t-post clips on the fence they chose as their "line in the sand".

Our Brangus Bull "Big Boy"

When they finally called a truce they had bent two t-posts and stretched one strand and broke another strand of 12 gauge barbwire, but every t-post clip was still wrapped tightly, keeping the unbroken strands from sagging enough to allow my herd to get out of the pasture. Repairing the damage was simply a matter of straightening the posts and tightening/replacing the 2 strands of wire - no fence clips had to be tightened or replaced.

Another neighbor's bull jumped a new section of fence I built using the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool. The bull landed on the fence, breaking the top two strands of barbwire, but the t-post clips held tight. I was amazed!

WELDED WIRE - CATTLE PANELS - FIELD FENCE INSTALL EASILY

One of the most dreaded and tedious of fencing jobs, wrapping t-post clips through field fence and cattle panels, can be done quickly and easily with the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool. Due to it's slim design and with no handle to work around the tool slips easily between the vertical and horizontal wires in field fence and cattle panels. T-post clips can be wrapped with either end of the tool, reducing much of the awkward and time-consuming tool repositioning necessary with pliers. The result is tighter, faster wraps.

For fencing with smaller openings, such as horse fence and goat fence the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool can be cut in half with a hacksaw. Following are comments from our customers who have done this.

Horse Fence:
"I used the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool to repair some 4"x4" field fence and I must say this tool worked like a champ...when I used the same tool on horse fence which is 2"x4" I had to cut the tool in half to make the swing thru the fence and it still worked great. I would recommend this tool to anyone."
- Pete Young, Redding, CA

Goat Fence:
"I bought [the clip tools] for friends who were putting up new fencing for their goats. Because the space between squares in their woven-wire fencing got smaller as they went down the post it became difficult to flip the tool through the squares for the bottom clips. However, my friend cut an inch off the end of one of the tools and it worked like a charm. They were delighted with the tools, (when they weren't smacking their heads for not thinking of it themselves.) Previously, installing these posts was so tedious and annoying they were putting up only 3-4 posts at a time and then they'd do a different chore for a break. The very first time they tried your tool they put up 8 posts."

EASILY REMOVE OLD, RUSTED, BROKEN T-POST CLIPS - TIGHTEN LOOSE CLIPS - RE-USE REMOVED CLIPS

Previously wrapped t-post clip that has been unwrapped with the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool

On my property I have about 2 1/2 miles of fence with old, loose t-post clips that needed replacing. Due to my arthritic hands I could replace only 20 or so clips a day using pliers.

While field testing the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool I discovered that not only could I wrap as many fence clips as I wanted without pain but I didn't have to replace many of the existing loose clips with new ones. I simply used the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool to wrap the existing fence clips tighter, saving me time and money.

Removing fence clips is as easy with the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool as wrapping them. Simply slip either end of the tool over the end of a fence clip as short as 1/8" in length and remove the clip by unwrapping it around the wire.

Once clips have been unwrapped with the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool they can be easily re-wrapped.

WRAPPING OLDER, SMALLER GAUGE (I.E. LARGER DIAMETER) T-POST CLIPS

Older type t-post clips were made of ungalvanized metal, were larger in diameter and much harder to wrap than modern t-post clips. If you need to wrap any of these older type clips, a simple modification to the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool will make the job much easier than wrapping them with pliers.

Either holding the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool with a drill press, pliers or in your hand, ream the hole of the tool with a 1/8" drill bit. Due to the composition of the metal you'll find that the hole reams out with very little pressure so the tool doesn't slip around as you'd expect.

If you would like us to modify a tool for you just let us know when placing your order and we can modify one for you at no extra charge.

"If you need to change or move a wire up, it is easy to unclip using the tool. Before when we used the pliers we had to cut the clip off and waste a clip..."
- Nick C., Virginia

WRAP STANDARD T-POST CLIPS - NO NEED TO BUY SPECIALLY MADE CLIPS

I was disappointed by what I found while searching to buy a tool to ease my fence-building chores. The few options available were either expensive, required the purchase of specially made (and expensive) t-post clips, or both.

I designed the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool for wrapping standard t-post clips, which are the least expensive to buy. With it's low purchase price the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool is economical both to purchase and to use.

A RUGGED TOOL THAT IS BUILT TO LAST

I experimented with several materials before I discovered the rugged alloy material I now use in the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool. The original materials couldn't hold up to the tremendous amount of pressure applied while wrapping t-post clips, which led to bending, splitting and breaking of the tool.

The photo below demonstrates the superior strength of the material used in the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool.

While the red powder coating I applied to my test tool took a beating the tool itself shows no signs of wear, other than a slight flaring of the ends, compared to the new, unused tool. This flaring actually improves the tool's performance as it allows the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool to slip over the ends of fence clips more smoothly.

I have wrapped hundreds of t-post clips with the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool and it still shows no sign of weakness, splitting, bending or breaking.

"I was impressed by the strength of the tool. After hundreds of clips being installed, only the paint was worn off. No deformation of the metal can be seen. "

INNOVATIVE DESIGN

Rugged, Yet Lightweight And Portable

The Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool, made from rugged 1/4" tubing, is 6" in length and weighs about 1 ounce. With no bulky handle it fits easily into pants or shirt pockets, making it easy to carry while checking fences.

No Handle To Get In The Way

My original design included a handle to give the tool strength and durability. The superior strength of the rugged alloy material eliminates the need for a handle, which actually makes the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool function more efficiently.

Versatile - Use Either End Of Tool

Due to the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool's hollow tube structure, t-post clips can be wrapped with both ends. This not only doubles the life of the tool, but makes it much easier to maneuver around and through the numerous obstacles encountered when wrapping t-post clips.

Slim Design - Maneuverable

With no handle and it's slim design, the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool is easily maneuverable in places where pliers and hands aren't, such as between wire strands or through welded wire and cattle panels.

A fence clip that is wrapped too close to the post or wire strand most often can't be grasped with pliers, but the slim hollow tube structure of the Fence Pro T-Post Clip Tool allows it to fit easily over the end of the clip for easy tightening or removal.
